BERG Sub-Groups
Three sub-groups look after areas of bushland beyond the Balcombe Estuary Reserves:
- The Hopetoun Creek Greenfield Reserve Group – working along Hopetoun Creek, a tributary of Balcombe Creek. Much of the group’s work is in the bushland along Greenfield Way. Enquiries to Hazel Athey, 0419 899 560
- Century Drive Habitat Link Group – Century Drive runs south off Bentons Road, and blocks on the east side run down to a strip of reserve along Balcombe Creek. A large retarding basin manages runoff from the surrounding development, and Group members are turning this into an indigenous wetland, flanked by indigenous plantings along the street and nearer the Creek. Enquiries to Tony O’Connor, 5977 2810.
- Harrap Creek Group – Harrap Creek is another small tributory of Balcombe Creek. A small group of BERG members have worked to restore indigenous plantings here.
